Christy Boot has spent her professional career in the world of education. She has spent over 20 years in post-secondary education. Christy is an educator at heart and loves to innovate within her chosen field of education. Currently she works for SAIT as an academic chair and mentors and leads health education instructors in rehabilitation therapy assistant, pharmacy assistant and fitness and wellness management. She has a proven track record as an instructor, change leader, and collaborative team member with a focus on academic excellence, mentorship and industry relations. As an instructor she has been recognized by her peers, leaders and students for her award-winning instructional skills that ensure high learner satisfaction while maintaining academic integrity through strong pedagogy and high curricular standards. Christy envisions growth through collaborative partnerships both within SAIT and with a variety of external stakeholders. Christy Boot was born and raised in southern Alberta on a working cattle ranch. Currently residing north of Cochrane, she is a wife, and also a mom to three grown kids. When she isn’t busy with work and family, you can find her skiing or playing baseball or volleyball. Christy is excited to partner with Heavens to Betsy charity.
Jolene Airth and her friend Tracey co-founded Heavens to Betsy in 2022, and they have collaborated on many projects over the the past 15 years. She has always been involved in agriculture, having been raised in southern Saskatchewan on a mixed grain and cattle operation, then graduating from Lakeland college and moving to Cochrane. She is also a graduate of SAIT and spent 10 + years working in Cochrane and Calgary area medical labs, as well as an examiner for private medical insurance.
Jolene enjoyed many years as a 4-H leader and currently enjoys the role of Green Certificate tester for Alberta Agriculture. Jolene currently works for the Stockmen's Memorial Foundation as well as on her family farm alongside her husband. She has two adult children and the family can be found camping in the summer and downhill skiing in the winter.
Jolene has found the best part of every volunteer and career opportunity has been the connections and relationships she has built along the way. Heavens to Betsy provides an opportunity to give back and Jolene looks forward to building new relationships, while sharing and expanding what this organization offers!
Tracey Sanden is a co-founder of Heavens of Betsy. She was raised on a ranch in southern Alberta and is a longtime resident of the Cochrane area. Tracey has 20 + years experience in the field of Home Maintenance as a building manager. She is excited to share her skills with others to create healthy and happy homes! Agriculture is dear to Tracey's heart and she has many years of experience with cattle, horses, sheep and greenhouses.
Tracey works in the powersport industry in Cochrane, as well as on the family ranch with her husband and adult daughter. She is a long time volunteer and has chaired school boards and enjoyed her time as a 4-H leader. When she is not working, you can find Tracey walking her dogs, working on the ranch, or playing baseball and volleyball .
Heavens to Betsy provides Tracey the opportunity to share her skills and empower others and she is excited to watch this charity grow!
My name is Deb Goetjen. I grew up in Calgary and have lived in the Rocky View area for 28 years. I have three grown daughters who are all doing their own thing! I work as a groundkeeper at a ranch near Airdrie. It is my dream job and I love going to work everyday. I am proud to be part of this committee and am excited to see the accomplishments in the future.
"Jessie is a public librarian with 10+ years of experience in information management and public libraries. Currently serving as the Assistant Director at the Cochrane Public Library, Jessie oversees technical services, circulation services, and general operations at the library. Her current goal is to develop a robust training and onboarding process for new library staff. Jessie is also committed to supporting the library profession and enriching the community she serves."
